KAZITASKS LEGAL

Terms & Conditions

The rules governing use of the KaziTasks marketplace, app, wallet, workspaces and related services.

Effective: 2 October 2026Uganda

1. Agreement to these terms

By creating an account, accessing KaziTasks or using a KaziTasks marketplace feature, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the KaziTasks Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create or continue using an account.

2. The KaziTasks service

KaziTasks provides technology that helps Clients post work and engage Taskers, and helps Taskers discover, propose for and perform work. KaziTasks may also provide messaging, workspaces, milestones, collaboration, subscriptions, KaziCredits, wallet, escrow, payment and withdrawal tools. Unless KaziTasks expressly contracts to perform a service itself, KaziTasks is the marketplace operator and is not the employer, employee, agent or business partner of a Client or Tasker.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must have the legal capacity to enter into the transactions you undertake on KaziTasks. Paid marketplace contracting is intended for adults aged 18 or over. You must provide accurate information, keep it reasonably current, protect your password and OTP codes, and promptly report unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by KaziTasks' own failure to apply reasonable security controls.

4. Identity and verification

KaziTasks may require identity, contact, business, professional or payment verification. Verification indicates that specified checks were completed; it is not a guarantee of a user's skill, conduct, solvency or future performance. Providing false, altered or misleading verification information may result in restriction or suspension.

5. Client responsibilities and work postings

Clients must describe tasks and projects truthfully, provide sufficient requirements, disclose material deadlines and constraints, and only request lawful work. A Client is responsible for ensuring that a proposed job complies with applicable employment, tax, licensing, safety and sector-specific requirements.

6. Fixed-price task acceptance

When KaziTasks allows multiple Taskers to express interest in or accept a fixed-price task, a Tasker's expression of interest does not by itself create the final engagement or remove the task from the public marketplace. The Client may review eligible Taskers and must explicitly select/accept one. Once the Client confirms the selected Tasker, other pending candidates may be marked not selected and the job can move into the funded engagement/workspace stage.

7. Projects, proposals and offers

For proposal or bid-based projects, a Client may review proposals and send a hire/award offer. Unless the workflow clearly states otherwise, the Tasker must accept the offer before the engagement becomes active. Users should review price, scope, timing, milestones and deliverables before accepting.

8. Milestones

For milestone-based work, the Client creates the official milestone plan, including milestone titles, amounts, due dates, deliverables, sequence and instructions. A Tasker may request or propose changes, but a Tasker cannot unilaterally change binding milestone terms. Once the engagement has been accepted and funded, material changes to price, milestone amounts, deadlines or deliverables should be made through the KaziTasks change process and may require acceptance by both parties and any necessary funding adjustment.

A Tasker may start, submit or resubmit a milestone only when the workflow permits. A Client may approve submitted work, request changes or raise a dispute. An โ€œapprovedโ€ milestone reflects the Client's acceptance in the platform; whether payment is released at that point depends on the payment configuration shown for that engagement.

9. Communication and workspace

Users should use the KaziTasks workspace, messages, files, meetings and activity history where available so job instructions and decisions can be recorded. Users must not use messaging to harass, defraud, impersonate, threaten, distribute malware or request unlawful work.

10. Prices, fees, subscriptions and KaziCredits

Prices, platform charges, subscription fees, credit costs and any applicable transaction charges are shown in the relevant KaziTasks screen or purchase flow. KaziTasks may offer different plans and usage limits. Fees may change prospectively; changes do not retroactively alter an already funded contract unless users expressly agree or law requires otherwise. KaziCredits are platform-use credits and are not cash or withdrawable money unless KaziTasks explicitly states otherwise.

11. Wallet, payments and escrow

KaziTasks may provide an internal wallet ledger and may use third-party payment providers such as ioTec and relevant Mobile Money/payment networks to collect or disburse funds. The KaziTasks wallet is the platform record of balances and eligible transaction states; third-party payment networks remain responsible for their own network processing.

Where escrow is required, the Tasker should not be required to begin work until the required funding is confirmed by the KaziTasks workflow. Funds held for an engagement may be released, refunded, split or frozen in accordance with the job state, approved milestones, cancellation rules, dispute outcome and applicable law.

12. Withdrawals

Eligible wallet balances may be withdrawn through supported methods, subject to identity, wallet, fraud-prevention and payment-provider checks. KaziTasks may delay or manually review a withdrawal where there is a reasonable security, dispute, compliance or transaction-integrity concern. A failed disbursement does not by itself extinguish the user's eligible wallet balance; the transaction should be reconciled according to its final provider status.

13. Delivery, revisions and completion

Taskers must deliver work in accordance with the accepted scope and milestones. Clients should review submissions reasonably and use the revision process for genuine scope-related corrections. Requests that materially expand the agreed scope should be handled as a change rather than an unlimited revision. Final completion occurs when the KaziTasks workflow records the engagement as completed after the applicable approval, payment or dispute steps.

14. Cancellations, refunds and disputes

Cancellation and refund outcomes depend on the job stage, work already performed, funds already released, provider fees and any applicable dispute decision. If a dispute is opened, KaziTasks may temporarily freeze affected escrow or wallet movements while information is reviewed. KaziTasks may consider messages, files, milestones, submissions, payment records and other relevant evidence when administering a platform dispute. Users remain free to pursue rights available under applicable law.

15. Reviews and ratings

Reviews should reflect genuine marketplace experiences. Users must not buy, sell, coerce, manipulate or fabricate reviews. KaziTasks may remove or restrict reviews that are fraudulent, abusive, irrelevant, unlawful or contrary to platform rules.

16. User content and work product

You retain ownership of content you already owned before uploading it to KaziTasks. You grant KaziTasks the limited rights necessary to host, display, transmit, process and secure content for operation of the service. Clients and Taskers should agree any special ownership, confidentiality, licensing or reuse terms for project deliverables. Where no separate written IP arrangement exists, applicable law and the agreed job purpose will govern rights in the completed deliverable.

17. Confidentiality

Users may receive non-public information through a job or conversation. Each user is responsible for respecting confidentiality commitments they accept and for avoiding unnecessary disclosure of personal, commercial or proprietary information.

18. Prohibited activity

You may not use KaziTasks for fraud, identity theft, unlawful discrimination, exploitation, harassment, trafficking, malware, credential theft, illegal goods or services, unsafe or prohibited work, infringement of third-party rights, manipulation of payments/reviews/referrals, or attempts to bypass security and access controls. KaziTasks may investigate and restrict activity that presents a reasonable legal, safety, fraud or platform-integrity risk.

19. Third-party services

KaziTasks may integrate payment, communications, maps, identity, hosting or other third-party services. Their systems and terms may apply to the part of a transaction they provide. KaziTasks is not responsible for outages or failures that are entirely outside its reasonable control, but will use reasonable efforts to reconcile KaziTasks records where a provider transaction affects a platform balance.

20. Suspension and termination

KaziTasks may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, serious or repeated breach of these terms, unlawful activity, payment abuse or protection of other users. Where appropriate, KaziTasks may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue. Outstanding transactions, disputes, lawful retention duties and payment obligations may survive account restriction or deletion.

21. Account deletion

You may request deletion through Account/Settings or the public Delete Account page. Deletion does not cancel obligations already incurred. KaziTasks may retain limited records where required for an unresolved transaction or dispute, fraud/security prevention, accounting, tax, legal or regulatory purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy.

22. Service availability and changes

We may improve, replace, suspend or retire features. We aim to keep KaziTasks available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Planned or material changes may be communicated through the app, website or account contact details.

23. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, users remain responsible for their own marketplace decisions, job performance, instructions, qualifications, taxes, legal compliance and interactions with other users. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. KaziTasks' responsibility for platform-related loss will be determined by applicable law and the circumstances of the claim.

24. Governing law and disputes with KaziTasks

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to a user in another jurisdiction. Before commencing formal proceedings against KaziTasks, users are encouraged to contact support so the matter can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved.

25. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for new features, risk controls, provider requirements or changes in law. The current version will be published on this page. If a change materially affects an existing user, KaziTasks may provide additional notice or seek renewed acceptance where appropriate.
